Pitt, Syracuse not likely on 2012 ACC schedule

With very little warning, the ACC made one of the most prominent moves in conference realignment in the middle of the 2011 regular season with the addition of Pittsburgh and Syracuse from the Big East. The bylaw-mandated 27-month exit period was thought to be negotiable, but all signs from Big East commissioner John Marinatto indicate that the league will hold all departing members to full withdrawal process.

Following the process outlined in the bylaws would hold off the conference move until the 2014-2015 academic year. While the ACC has made it clear they are prepared to work with the Big East to get Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the league sooner, they have not made any legal efforts to expedite the process. With the release of the ACC regular season schedule coming in early February, it is beginning to look unlikely that either school will be in the ACC for the 2012 season.

"You never say never, but it's unlikely there would be major changes once [the schedule] is set," Mike Finn, ACC associate commissioner in charge of football communications, told The Charlotte Observer.

The SEC and Pac-12 have both released their conference schedules for 2012, and the rest of the major conferences will likely follow suit in the next several weeks. The ACC released the 2011 league schedule on Feb. 14.

While the ACC seems comfortable waiting out the exit period, West Virginia is having a much more difficult time leaving the Big East. Both the school and the conference have filed competing lawsuits regarding West Virginia's plans to join the Big 12, and a Rhode Island judge has ordered both parties to enter non-binding mediation. West Virginia hopes to reach a settlement allowing the school to join the Big 12 in time for the 2012 season, while the league has no plans of making exception to the bylaws. A status conference has been scheduled for Feb. 9, as both parties hope to reach a resolution before the Big East and Big 12 release their conference schedules.

When the Big East releases their schedule for 2012, I would expect to see West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse on the slate. If the Big 12 includes West Virginia as well, it could lead to potentially massive headaches for both conferences. It seems as though the ACC is content avoiding the legalities and welcoming their new additions at a later date.

Pitt, Syracuse not likely on 2012 ACC schedule

Correction:  I meant to say PITT & SYRACUSE would be in the ACC by 2013, NOT 2012.  Thank You !

Pitt, Syracuse not likely on 2012 ACC schedule

I'd say come sometime between now and Feb. 5th. and you'll see that WVU is on the BIGXII's 2012 schedules and is officially in that conference by July 1, 2012.  All that is left then, is how much WVU will pay the BE for leaving early.  I think PITT & SYRACUSE will officially be in the ACC by July 1, 2012, and only be obligated to pay the BIG EAST $ 5 million each.  It will be interesting seeing how these moves from the BE play out !

Pitt, Syracuse not likely on 2012 ACC schedule

If you think you will see WVU on the Big Least scheudule for 2012 you would be thinking wrong.  There is absolutely nothing, short of a court injunction, which isn't going to happen, that will keep WVU on the Big Loser conference schedule for 2012.

Keep dreaming....

Idl211.........I suppose it's ok to drink the gallon of Maalox, and then you can LOOK LUCK up to sue a "HAM" sandwich for WVU. You are in a class by yourself suing to do this, and suing to do that.  LUCK, WVU's AD did make contact with the ACC and SEC this past FALL about membership after SYRACUSE and PITT were invited, and these are absolute facts, regardless of your denial about WVU contacting the ACC. Neither the SEC and the ACC was interested in WVU. Futhermore, Syracuse and PITT spoke up for VT to be invited to the BIG EAST as a charter member when the BIG EAST Football Conference was formed, these are facts. WVU became a Charter member of the BIG EAST Football Conference at the same time VT was officially admitted. These are facts and you can look these facts up in the BE archives.  Now take a big breath and try to come to some type of sense, that won't overheat your thermostat and blow up water-pump. Geez !!

Idl211..........About a gallon of Maalox would probably help clean your inards out too.  LOOK LUCK is working hard to get you on a big bird heading west next year for the BIGXII !  Of course you'll probably need a "puke" bag to throw-up on an airplane. And while we're at it, why do you always need to post twice when sending out all your bull-crap to make a point ?  Idl211.....just take your time, take a big breath and try to present yourself in a reasonable fashion, rather than "trash talk" all the time.  Now, I really feel a Dale Carnegie Course would do wonders for you ! You will find you really can communicate without using all those un-needed low class words..........but hey that's your culture, isn't it.

BufordIQ62  So i see that you can't prove you're point, and you were proven wrong. So now all you can do is show everyone how much of a idiot you are. I think anybody would know after reading your post that most of that crap you wrote pertains to yourself. Why don't you man up and act your age and admit you were wrong. You can't talk up your facts so again you make a as!! of yourself with your childish comments.

Oh one last thing you need to work on your own grammar and spelling before you criticize someone spelling. What the Hell is LOOK LUCK.

Idl211............You need to learn to spell, you must have flunked the 3rd grade.  Next, you probably need to spend some time in a psycho ward to learn to control your temper and rage.  Also, while you're at it you probaby need a little dose of "time out" for lying and forgetting all the bull-crap you step in and throw out.  Then you need to cap off all of your infantile habits and being a misfit by taking a DALE CARNEGIE Course.  Hopefully, after you immerse yourself in all these activities, you may flesh out to get back in the Third Grade and to finish what you failed in. LOOK LUCK, and I'll be pulling for you.  There is hope for you if you'll give the effort.  And Idl211, please don't forget that EFFORT =  PERFORMANCE !!

Pitt, Syracuse not likely on 2012 ACC schedule

OH BufordIQ62  Just to prove that you don't know what you are talking about. VT had never played Pitt before 1993. And only play Syracuse's 4 Times in all the yeaars leading up to the Big East. And only played Temple 4 times. Never played BC or Rutgers before 1993. Go to cfbdatawarehouse and you will find this out for yourself, that is if a non-human simple minded idiot like you can read and understand what you read.
