FSU fans taunt from the sky during UF spring game

Florida drew a lot of attention with their spring game on Saturday, the first under new head coach Will Muschamp .  The on-field results were mixed, with excitement for the upcoming season matched by continued concern regarding a struggling offense and quarterback John Brantley .  Brantley's last regular season start was an unimpressive performance in a 31-7 loss to rival Florida State .  On Saturday, a group of Seminole fans arranged to have that game remembered in the sky.

A group of "12 to 15 " FSU fans pooled the $850 necessary to get AirSign to fly a banner over the Florida campus during the Gators spring game. The sign read "31-7 Go Noles!" and took an hour-long journey through the sky above the Gainesville campus. Interestingly enough, the plane was being piloted by Patrick Walsh, AirSign's president and an admitted Gators fan.

"One of our sales people sold this thing. We're a standard company. We can't be discriminatory," Walsh told the Orlando Sentinel . "Most of our other pilots didn't want to fly it."

AirSign is a nationwide company based in nearby Williston, FL, and Walsh said that many of the employees are big Gator fans. Florida State will host their annual spring game this Saturday in Tallahassee. We'll see if any Gators decide to return the favor.

...  I could almost bet you weren't even a gator fan until they started winning this past decade or even have any ties to the  university whatsoever.   U got on the bandwagon in the perfect time but lets see how long you stay in it once UF has their own slide
No actually I've been a Gator fan for as long as I can remember.  As a kid I watched guys like Emmitt Smith and Danny Wuerffel play at local high schools Escambia and Ft Walton Beach, then go on to play for my favorite team.  I know it's easy for semenhole fans like you to call me a bandwagoner, but that's ok...just your typical ways.  I calling us bandwagoners has been your only defense for your last decade of mediocrity.

Haha, this is all out of good sport, and gave me a good chuckle. No one got harmed, it was just a great reminder of which program is better.
This type of stuff is what makes college football great. Whether it's the other team or your team, it's something harmless that keeps the convos and rivalries going all year long :)

:   Look at the rivalry record since bowden first took over the program when we could actually talk about our football program...  Every team goes thru their ups and downs dont be so bitter over a little flyover...  I'm sure if Florida does something for our spring game this saturday you will be giddy about the whole thing, just face facts yea uf had a good recruiting class last year but without teboq they weren't going to have much of a year and muschamp is untested...  I could almost bet you weren't even a gator fan until they started winning this past decade or even have any ties to the  university whatsoever.   U got on the bandwagon in the perfect time but lets see how long you stay in it once UF has their own slide

Frame it any way you want UofF, but your team sucked last year.  I did not start this conversation, your fellow gator fan did. I already mentioned LSU's problems at QB, and have been doing that for years.  You guys need to quit acting like a bunch of girls and just face facts.  FSU destroyed you last year, end of story.  You will get a chance to get them back this year, but they also have the chance to start a winning streak against you if you don't improve quite a bit.  I suspect you will, but they will have to be proven on the field, not on some message board.

Why would you call me a homer in this conversation.  Other than mentioning LSU's offensive struggles, I said nothing about my Tigers.  This all started because the FSU fans were clever, and some UF fans did not apprreciate that.  It has got to be tough having that thin of skin and then trying to be a sports fan on this site.

A coach who wasnt coaching rather handing it off to Adaazaio who sucks so you have no clue what your talking about. Im sure some were overrated but for you to act like all of them wrere overrated, then your a homer idiot...UF just wasnt a good team offensively. Lackluster OC, and a drop back QB who couldnt run the spread...and for all of you getting down on their offense right now, it takes more than a month to install an offense...If Brantley doesnt work then we have Driskell...We ahev plenty of talent...I hope Muschamp is as good as adverised....and LSUmoron..you need to worry about LSU's QB problem instead of a game played last season......dont think we wont put up 52 on you again....even if we have to score 35 on defense....LSU  are a bunch aof posers

First off, Hernandez was a TE, not a WR.  Who cares what these guys do in the pros?  The question is what did they do at WR for the gators in their system, and the answer is, not much.  Tebow has done nothing in the pros, but that has no bearing on what he did at UF.  He was great in college.  Harvin was the gators best receiver for years, and along with Tebow, was also the best rusher.  Those two guys were very special players and were good enough to carry that offense.  In college, a couple of great players can make all the difference in the world.  Without them, the rest of the roster looks much closer to average at best.  Last year, like LSU, the offense was well below average.
Hernandez may have been listed as a TE, but he lined up in the slot 80% of the time when he was there. The Gators were a spread OPTION team...meaning they have more running plays in their offense.  The WR's still had pretty good numbers when Dan Mullen was there, because he knew how to throw the ball down field and mix it up.  When Addazio took over, the WR's ran 8 yard curls and mostly HB dive plays.  My point is if these guys can make good contributions at the NFL level, had those receivers been utilized to their potential in college, they would've had flashy numbers; and that is Urban Meyer's fault for not firing Steve Addazio.
